Crafting Ewing’s Story: The Process
The Ewing Township Spotlight Series was a collaborative effort, but it began with research, pre-interviews, and listening. I worked closely with Ewing’s marketing director, the mayor, and township staff to understand the heartbeat of this community. It was important to me to shape an authentic story—one that truly reflected Ewing’s spirit.
We started by identifying the key elements that make Ewing extraordinary: its people, businesses, nonprofits, restaurants, and history. From there, I led the charge in pre-interviews, diving deep into the stories that would bring this campaign to life.
Once the framework was in place, I teamed up with Editor Rich Roddman and DP Chris Blandon to bring those stories to the screen. Together, we captured stunning drone shots of Washington’s Crossing, sat down for heartfelt interviews, and filmed the moments that showcase Ewing’s unique charm.
This series is more than just visuals; it’s a layered narrative. From nonprofits like HomeFront and Meals on Wheels, who build resilience and hope, to the local restaurants where community comes together over a meal, every frame is meant to tell Ewing’s story in a way that feels real.
While I directed and shaped the story, this was a team effort. Rich and Chris helped bring my vision to life with their incredible talent and expertise. Together, we’ve created a campaign that reflects not only Ewing’s history and pride but also its heart.
As we move closer to the final launch, I’m proud to say that this project is a testament to the power of storytelling and collaboration. Behind the lens, I saw a side of Ewing that was always there, waiting to be discovered. And now, I can’t wait to share it with the world.
The Outcome: content is already achieving its goals by fostering local business growth, with entrepreneurs now discussing opening storefronts in the new Ewing Town Center, and attracting external companies to establish their presence in Ewing. Notably, a major player in the billion-dollar cannabis industry, inspired by this campaign, has committed to further investing in the township’s expansion. Additionally, the series is being leveraged to reintroduce and promote the newly revitalized "Abandoned Jet Engine Facility" in West Trenton, NJ, marking it as a symbol of Ewing’s transformation and potential.

Coming Home
There’s a funny thing about life—how it loops back around when you least expect it.
I had an incredible experience shooting a multi-part spotlight video series for Ewing Township. It was fantastic to connect with amazing non-profits and enjoy some great local restaurants while rediscovering the charm of my hometown. Growing up in Ewing, I thought I knew it all, and one thing I was certain of was that I had to leave that town behind. So, I made my move to Florida and discovered my career in the film and video content industry.
Now, after traveling far and wide, I’ve returned to Ewing with a fresh perspective. Instead of figuring out how to showcase how great the town could be, I realized just how wonderful it truly is! It’s funny how the lens can shift your outlook when you’re behind the camera. I can't wait for the final spotlight campaign to launch at the end of 2024!
